FOUNDATION INTEGRITY

THE HOLLOW TEST (ACOUSTIC)

PRIORITY: HIGH

Acoustic verification is the primary method for detecting subsurface delamination in the equipment grout base.

SOLID SIGNATURE

High-frequency, sharp "ting" sound. Indicates 100% bond with the floor.

HOLLOW SIGNATURE

Low-frequency, dull "thud". Primary indicator of air pockets or shrinkage cracks.

MANDATORY PROTOCOL

  • Tap systematically every 10cm.
  • Mark delamination zones with chalk.
  • Photograph for trend comparison.

ANCHOR BOLT TIGHTENING

M24 BOLT 400 - 600 Nm
M30 BOLT 800 - 1200 Nm
M36 BOLT 1400 - 2000 Nm
WARNING: Overtightening can shear threads or induce micro-cracks in the foundation pedestal. Always use a calibrated torque wrench.

6-MONTH ALIGNMENT RULE

New concrete foundations exhibit micro-movements for up to 180 days. A full re-alignment audit is mandatory post-commissioning.

EPOXY CURING CURVE

  • • 24h: 70% compressive strength (Ready for load).
  • • 7 Days: 100% molecular bond (Final alignment fix).
70% (24h) 100% (7d)
