THERMAL MAPPING & IR DIAGNOSTICS

PREDICTIVE INFRARED SCANNING

Infrared signatures allow us to "see" friction and electrical resistance before they manifest as mechanical failure or fire hazards.

POINT A: BEARINGS < 60°C
POINT B: STATOR CORE < 85°C

PRIORITY TARGETS

  • Electrical terminal box connections (Loose bolts)
  • HPU Solenoid coils (Stiction/Internal leakage)
  • Excitation transformer core (Saturation)

EMISSIVITY (ε) CALIBRATION

PAINTED METAL 0.95
OXIDIZED STEEL 0.85
POLISHED SHAFT 0.20

THE BLACK TAPE METHOD: For shiny shafts, apply a piece of black electrical tape (ε=0.95), wait 5 mins, and measure the tape surface instead of the bare metal for accurate results.
